Gingerbread House

So I bought a Gingerbread House kit at Aldi for $7 thinking that the girls and I could have some "quality time" putting it together. I felt like I couldn't go wrong for only seven bucks considering the tray, precut pieces, bag of icing, and all the candies were included. It was actually very easy to do and the girls (especially Delaney) had a good time decorating it. I was surprised at how patient they were while I was building the house and for the 15 minutes we had to wait for the icing to set.
All the parts of the kit

I like that the pieces were scored so I could tell where I was supposed to put the doors and windows. No creativity needed.

Harper helped decorate the little tree.
Delaney starts working on the roof. My icing skills leave a lot to be desired. Harper is in the background trying to sneak a gumdrop.

The finished product.

I consider the whole endeavor to be a success!
