Mother's Day

Mother's Day was spread out over a few days this year.  First, we had an impromptu get-together at Ken and Kathy's camper last Sunday. Since we were all going to be there eating pizza and mom was bringing a cake, we just decided that this would count as our Mother's Day.  The girls and Trevor had a blast riding around on the golf carts and the adults sat around and visited with Marty and Larry who drove over for a bit.

For the record, I was the third person who tried to hold Trevor for the picture.  Ann and Kathy couldn't wrangle him either :)

On Thursday, May, I had the honor of attending Mother's Day Teas at both of the girls' schools.  It worked out perfectly that Harper's was at 1:00 and Delaney's was at 2:45, so I only had take one half-day off of work and I didn't have to miss either one.

Here are the things Harper wrote about me:
My Mom...
Looks pretty when she goes to church.
Likes to cook dinner.
Always says make your bed and NO!
Is funny when she tricks me and Delaney.
Favorite thing to do is play with us.
Why did God make moms?  So their children can live.

As part of her gift she also promised to:
1.  Not do bad things to her sister.
2.  Always wear her seatbelt.
3.  Always love me.

Delaney wrote a poem for me.  They had brainstormed ideas in class:

My Mom is the Best!
My Mom is as sweet as a ripe strawberry dipped in chocolate.
My Mom is as funny as a monkey swinging from tree to tree.
My Mom is as nice as a pink lemonade on a hot summer day.
My  Mom is as pretty as a princess in a castle.
My Mom is as wonderful as ice cream on a hot summer day.

Once again standing by Spencer.  Hmmmm? :)

Today is the real Mother's Day and I got the best gift of all - shopping at the outlet malls with Krista and no kids!  Allan is extremely kind and generous to be willing to let me go all day.  When I got home, we had dinner at Joe's Pizza with our moms.
