Family Dusk Dash

The Metro Milers, a local running club, put on a Family Dusk Dash tonight at the high school track. They had a 100, 200, and 400 meter Fun Run and a 1 Mile Run. The girls could both run in up to three of the races for $5 each. It was a pretty hot evening, but we thought we would give it a shot. I'm so glad we went because the girls had tons of fun running and wanted to keep doing more races. They both ran the 100 and 200 and were so hot and red-faced that we didn't let them do the 400. We'll definitely be looking for more of these types of events in the future, or at least plan to take our group of buddies out to a track and have them do practice races.

At the starting line of the 100

Go girls! Go!

It was so cute to watch them run!

A staggered start for the 200 confused the little ones :)

Super fast!

I love how Harper pumps her little arms. Daddy ran beside her to keep her in her lane while I ran beside them taking pictures. Needless to say I was a sweaty mess!

You can barely see the time clock to the far left, but Delaney ran the 200 in 1 minute 1 second. She stopped exactly on the white line and wouldn't go further because that's where we told her the finish line was.

Cooling down

Medals, yay!!

And the very best part? Free popsicles!!
