Florida Day 1

After 13 hours in the car, we finally arrived at our beach house in Navarre, FL. I say "ours" because it was the same house we went to last year with the Rudds and, hopefully, it will be the same house we go to with the Rudds for many years to come. I only took one picture of the property this year because I took so many last year.

This trip was perfect! The weather was gorgeous all week and we didn't see even a trace of oil. The mall and restaurants were less crowded than usual because so many families were scared away. Not us!! Since our house is on the Santa Rosa Sound, we were protected. Our families had so much fun hanging out together and the kids played well with minimal fighting. The best part is that we took two college-aged babysitters along which allowed the adults to have some free time everyday.

We were fortunate that the girls' naps overlapped for a while. Delaney is under her "tent".

The first morning we were there was Father's Day. Allan got to sleep in a little bit, then he took Delaney out to do some fishing off of our dock. No luck cathing anything, though.

The whole gang. Harper is sitting beside Allan.

Krista captured this sweet picture of Harper and me taking a break at the end of the dock. You can kind of get an idea of the gorgeous view we have from the back of the house.

Happy Father's Day, Allan!

Delaney loved floating. She became pretty self-sufficient in the pool by the end of the week - even in the deep end!

Harper sitting in the shade.

That evening the adults went to a local steakhouse called Coach and Four. It does not have the greatest decor (hence the 6 ft tall cowboy), but the food is tasty! It's a place my Florida family likes to go to.

Being the party animals that we are, we went to Target after dinner. Allan found his long-lost twin - some random guy in the book section! It took him about 10 minutes to get up the nerve to ask him for a picture :)
