Edwardsville held its 2nd Annual Criterium bike race today, so we headed downtown to watch as soon as Allan got off of work. Races of different levels of riders, from juniors to women to amateurs, had been going on all day. There was even a free kids race, but it was at 4:00 and Allan didn't get off until 5. The very last race of the day is the "Pros, 1s, 2s" which are the super fast guys. We got there in time to watch the last 30 minutes or so. I love that we had the chance to show off our beautiful downtown to so many people who came from all over the region.
Daddy and the girls
************************************************************************************
Inspired by the speed, the girls had their own running races when we got back home. Allan had brought home some old register tape and made a finish line for them. They could run around our house over and over and over! In fact one of Harper's favorite things to do right now is play, "On your mark, get set, Go!". She runs up and down the hall upstairs, around the house downstairs, or around the yard outside. If she doesn't want to do something (like brush her teeth) I simply say, "on your mark, get set, go!" and she runs off to do it. It's a great little trick we use :)
And she's off!
