Kirkwood Train Station

We've always said that we would celebrate Delaney's Christmas birthday during the summertime, but still have yet to do so. My Mom and Ed wanted to do something special for Delaney before summer came to a close, so we all took a trip to the Kirkwood train station since Delaney and Papa Ed both share a fascination with trains. Little did we know when we planned our outing that it would be the hottest day in the past 3 years!! The heat didn't stop us from having a good time, though.

Delaney holding her ears as a freight train came through.
Amtrak trains stop at the station regularly 3 times throughout the day to unload and load passengers. The 4:29 train was running about 45 minutes late, which gave us a great excuse to walk to the custard stand!

Delaney loves her green ice cream!

And so does Harper.

When the Amtrak train finally pulled in, Papa Ed was able to take Delaney onboard and show her what it looked like. The conductor even stopped to get a picture.

After the train pulled away, we walked across the street to an Italian restaurant for dinner and presents.
Harper enjoyed some bread.

Part of Honey and Papa Ed's gift was a tutu and tiara which she insisted on wearing for the rest of dinner. They also bought her a ticket to go see Disney Princesses on Ice in September.

A little sisterly love.
