Holiday World!

We took our first trip to Holiday World this weekend with the Rudds! It's a theme park that is incredibly small-kid-friendly. We left Friday after Allan got off of work and drove the 3 hours to Santa Claus, IN. Both girls were so excited to sleep in a hotel. It took awhile to get the girls to settle down to sleep, but they woke up happy and ready to go Saturday morning.

We had such a great experience at Holiday World! The weather couldn't have cooperated better - a little overcast in the morning while we were riding the dry rides, then warm sun in the afternoon when we headed to the waterpark. Surprisingly, the website had said that Memorial Day weekend was one of the least busy days and it was right! We barely waited in any lines (maybe one or two turns at most) and never had to wait for food or anything. Our kids were better behaved than normal and barely fought with each other. Harper even napped for an hour in her stroller while the big kids did some rides. Thanks God!! My absolute favorite part of the whole day was that Holiday World has Pepsi Oasises where you can just walk up and get free sodas all over the park. I was in heaven!!

Harper, Lucas, and Tyler waiting to ride the antique cars

Delaney loved driving, of course

Krista and Ty were right behind us...

...and Brian and Lucas were right behind them.

Allan and Brian were able to ride a couple of adult rides.

Delaney is ready for her first roller coaster ride. Hands Up! The park had two sections that were geared towards kids our age. Even Harper, the youngest and shortest in our group, had plently of rides to go on.

Delaney isn't happy that Harper gets to drive this time.

I love this picture of Harper with her hands up.

Beautiful girl

I had my little camera which doesn't do great with action shots.

Another beautiful girl

Delaney loved these bumper boats.

But did not like this ride that bounced you up and down. It's the child-version of the ride that Allan and Brian rode earlier. Tyler loved it, though, and rode it with me twice.

At about 2:00 we went over to Splashing Safari, the waterpark. Again, there were so many little-kid-friendly things to do, including at least 7 mini waterslides that dumped into a 1.5 foot pool. Harper could do them by herself!

Weee!

I love this place!

The waterpark closed at 6:30, but the rest of the park stayed open until 8:30. We let the kids ride a few more rides to get them good and worn out (and ate a funnel cake) before we took off for the trip home. Our goal was for them to fall asleep quickly for a peaceful trip. We made it home by 10:45 pm. On the way home Allan said, "I think we just started a new Memorial Day weekend tradition." Sounds good to me!
