Math Night with Delaney

Tonight, Delaney and I got to go to Math Night at her school.  I honestly can't tell you how excited I was to go - can you say Math Nerd?  I just love any opportunity to get into her school to see the cool things they are doing and learning.  Since Allan had to work, I took Harper to Honey's so Delaney and I could have some special time together.  We saw many friends and their families there.

We started the evening with pizza, then they separated us into groups to rotate through different classes with various math activities.  The Garmans were in a group with us!  We did a penny-tossing probability activity, made a caterpillar with different colored dots and determined the fraction of each color, played a money Bingo game, played a +/- checkerboard game, participated in 3 graphs about winter activities, board games, Valentine candy, and hot chocolate, and guessed how many marshmallows were in a jar.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was when we got to go in the tech room to see a demonstration of the new Polyvision whiteboards that each classroom is getting.  I want one for my own class so badly! Delaney was able to play one of the online games that accompanies their curriculum.
Delaney enjoyed the Math Night and didn't want to leave.  But, she was content to find out that soon she was going to get to have her own Honey night so she could have Honey and Grandpa all to herself and not have to share them with Harper!
