...but I am bragging!
Delaney is growing up so fast - both physically and cognitively. She has to be going through a growing spurt because the girl can't stop eating. I'm relieved that we are going into capri and short season because I don't know if I can find pants long enough for her legs that will fit her skinny waist!
On Monday night, we were sitting at Liz and Paul's dinner table chatting. Delaney went over to her markers and paper and the next thing we know she has this story written about her day. I was so impressed that she wrote the whole thing without asking for help. If you can't decipher her invented spelling, it says:
"I went to Honey's house today. Then I went to Mama's house for dinner. Then I went to my house and Trevor came to my h(ouse and) Honey and Grandpa."
She has also been asking about learning to tie a shoe. I dug out this little practice shoe that Mama bought the girls several years ago. We sat together and practiced a few times and she picked it up pretty quickly. She was frustrated with herself when she didn't do it perfectly the first time (an unfortunate trait she got from me), but I made her keep trying and she was eventually able to do easily it on her own.
