Camping Out

So Allan had another one of his big ideas. He is full of them, but doesn't always think things completely through. Since we are having some pretty great weather, he wanted to camp out Delaney in the backyard. He also wanted to invite Craig and Claire. All of that sounded great, except for the fact that he was going to be playing paintball at 8:30 the next morning and the Mommies were taking the girls to see Princesses on Ice at 11am. I always get uptight when it comes to timing and worry that we won't be able to fit it all in. But since Craig and Ness were on board, I went along with it. Luckily for Allan, it all worked out perfectly this time :) Allan borrowed a big tent from an employee and Craig brought over their firepit. After we grilled out hamburgers, the Garman's came over to join us for S'mores.

One minor glitch in the plans was that none of us had sticks to roast marshmallows. Scott came to the rescue with his toast maker, but it was still a little gooey.

Then the guys figured out that they could pre-make the S'mores and just melt them over the fire.

We ended up hanging out by the fire until after 10:30, the girls went to bed super late! Then, a flock of birds flying overhead woke them at 6 am which means they only had a little over 7 hours of sleep! Princesses on Ice is going to be interesting!

The girls were happy as can be when they woke up and enjoyed a delicious breakfast of Bread Co. bagels and chocolate milk. I think we're gonna have to do it again sometime!
