1st Soccer Practice

Delaney had her first soccer practice tonight! She is playing in the Upward soccer league, which is a Christian-based league run through the church where she goes to school - super convenient since it is 2 minutes from our house. I am very impressed by how organized and well-run the progam is. Each player received a little box that contained their jersey, socks, magnet, water bottle, and memory verse poster. In the middle of each practice the team takes a break and has a snack and does a devotional.

Her team is the "Cougars" with about 8 other 4/5 year olds. She was so excited that the day finally came when she could wear her shinguards and soccer socks like her cousin Annie. Except Daddy was in charge of getting her dressed and put her shinguards on outside of her socks.

Ready to go!

Her buddies Koen, Tyler, and Peyton all play on other teams in the league but practice on the same day and time. It will be fun when our teams pay each other.

Allan and I were both pleasantly surprised how well Harper behaved. We thought we would have to chase her and keep her from running on the field, but she was pretty content to sit and eat her fishies. She also complained that it was too windy and snuggled with us quite a bit.
