St. Pat's 5 Mile Race

Allan and I ran the St. Pat's Day 5 Mile Race in downtown St. Louis today along with 12,000 other people! It was unbelievably crowded - a sea of green! Originally, we thought we might push the girls in the joggers, but I'm so glad we didn't attempt to run with them. The weather was absolutely perfect, sunny and in the 50's. I actually got hot! Several friends rode with us or met us there - Ness, Sarah, Deb, and Gabe - which made it that much more fun. There were all kinds of crazy people with big hats, tutus, tons of beads, and even a bride and groom trailing tin cans wearing a sign that read "Still Married".

Allan wanted to try to run it in under 39 minutes and finished at 38:20. He was 613th overall! Woot Woot! I wanted to just run the whole thing and finished in 51:21 (my fastest 5 mile time yet). I can't believe I did as well as I did considering I pushed the wrong button on my Garmin and started the wrong playlist on my Ipod. I was a mess for the first half mile trying to get it all straightened out!

No pictures because no way was I toting my camera along for the run!
