Harper has had a great year in the 2-year-old Adventureland class at church. She absolutely loves her teachers, Mrs. Tami and Mr. Jesse. They are so good to her! Even though Harper technically should have moved up to my 3-year-old class tonight since she is 3 today, Mrs. Tami asked if they could keep her for one more week to have a party for her. It was incredibly generous of her to offer, so I couldn't refuse. She had balloons, a cake, and even a gift for Harper! The best part was a really lovely note she wrote to me that I will put in Harper's keepsake drawer. It read:
Harper's Mommy and Daddy:
As I look back on the year with Harper, the first day she was in our classroom was a bit rocky. However, the rest of the year was picture perfect. I always looked forward to seeing Harper's smiling face as she walked into the classroom. As the year progressed, she began to show the same traits as Delaney. She began to welcome the kids into the classroom. As a child entered a bit timid and maybe tearful, Harper welcomed them and walked them to the table asking them if they wanted to play with some Playdoh. Miss Congeniality started to emerge. Harper is such a sweet girl and Mr. Jesse and I enjoyed every minute with her. She loved to run down the hill during the summer when we went outside, and she ate chocolate with fierce abandonment (like any girl should do) and handed me her bow to wear for an hour.
We will miss Harper as she is one of our favorites. Now she has become our alumni. Thank you for allowing us to share God's word with Harper for this year.
Happy Birthday to my special Harper.
Tami B.

That was super sweet!
