I was invited to a Mother's Day Tea at Delaney's school today. It was a fun opportunity to get a little dressed up and have a Mommy/Daughter day. The kids had worked all week making brownies, cupcakes, lemonade and tea. They even practiced how to pour the tea by making sure to hold the lid tight on the teapot. Mrs. Kellie played a slideshow of pictures from the year which concluded with a shot of the kids throwing graduation caps into the air. It made me tear up a little bit thinking about how grown up Delaney is! They had also made a handprint craft, a picture frame, and completed a questionnaire about their mommies. Here are Delaney's responses:
Why did God make mommies? So they could have us for babies
How did God make mommies? Our Grandmas had our mommies
Why did God give you your mommy? So we could have her to be with
What kind of girl was your mommy? a little girl
What does your mommy do in her spare time? hug me and kiss me (I was so proud because most of the kids said play on the computer, call people, or take naps - all of which would be valid responses for me too! I'm happy that she doesn't perceive me that way!)
If you could change one thing about your mommy, what would it be? nothing
Thank you, sweet girl! I had a wonderful time and I am so proud to be your Mommy!
