The girls have been begging to have a sleepover in Delaney's room and, since it's summer, we decided to oblige them.
Take 1
The first night, Monday, they crashed pretty easily because neither of them had a good nap that day. However, at about 2 am they both ended up in our bed because of some thunder.
Take 2
I told them they could try again Tuesday night, but they never made it to sleep. They were too giggly and couldn't settle. Finally, at 9:48 pm, I made Harper go into her room.
Take 3
Wednesday was their third and final chance. When I brought in Harper's pink blankies and piggy she said, "I don't need them, Mom, I will just snuggle with Delaney." Cute! They both fell asleep within about 15 minutes and no bad weather was in the forecast, so I figured it would be smooth sailing for whole night. Nope. At 12:20 am, Allan and I were awakened by two crying girls. Apparently, Harper had a bad dream and was crying, but Delaney was not feeling sympathetic. In fact, as soon as we walked in her room she demanded, "Get her out of here! I don't want to hear her!" Don't mess with Delaney and her sleep! Lucky Harper got to come sleep in our bed. This morning, when I asked Delaney about it, she did not remember anything at all.
No more sleepovers for a while. We will try again next month.
Monday - settling in for the night
Allan and I thought it was cute how Harper had her fist on Delaney's face and Delaney didn't even notice.
Sleeping kids are too cute!
Night 3 - before the bad dream
Harper loves to snuggle!
